Bruno's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this dog personally. Be sure to contact the foster directly at the number listed below.

Bruno is an approximately 6-year old neutered male, brindle with white Boxer who weighs about 60 lbs. He is an awesome walker, super easy to handle, friendly with everyone, mellow and well behaved. He is very good with adults and children, and he is housetrained.

Bruno knows "sit" and "lie down" very well. If you want a dog who will smother you with kisses and just want to snuggle up to you, this is the dog. He walks extremely well on a leash and rides very well in the car - especially if he can look out a window.

Bruno takes treats very nicely, with that in mind he could be trained on other commands as he is very treat oriented. Bruno would love to be an only dog, but with the right dog he would do very well. He also needs to be in a home without cats.

Bruno is currently available at the County Department of Animal Services at 5480 Gaines St. in San Diego. You can come by and meet him Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30-5:30. Closed Sundays, Mondays and Holidays. For more information, go to .

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruno, a Vista Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Vista, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
