Captain's Story...
Ahoy! Meet Captain! Captain is happy to be part of the ARF family for the new year! Captain is a beagle/basset mix around seven years old. He was found as a stray in a rural part of Ohio, and brought to safety on New Year's Eve to ARF. We are still getting to know Captain, but he is your typical beagle boy - full of energy and beagle antics. Captain is just a little guy, around 15 lbs. He’s going to make a great addition to some lucky family!

If you would like to know more about Captain, give his adoption consultant, Lee, a call at 440-554-3828 today! She has been spending time with Captain and can tell you more about his sweet personality.

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain, a Berea Beagle/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Basset Hound for sale in Berea, or seeking a Beagle/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Basset Hound breeders who help with Beagle/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
