Cooper's Story...
Cooper is a big, hunky, handsome, 8-year-old chocolate Lab boy. This guy is such the perfect gentleman and his foster mom LOVES him a lot and would keep him for her own if she could. Cooper loves the attention he gets from his people and loves to snuggle every chance he can. He is awesome with younger children and he is also great with other dogs, but, he does not really like the kitties very well. He is house trained, crate trained and shows excellent manners, i.e., no jumping, knows sit, and will share his food. This awesome boy would be a good fit for any home – for the single person looking for a best friend or an older couple looking for a companion. He would love to be able to lie at your feet and watch TV or just listen to the sound of the fire in the fireplace this cold winter. Don't let his age fool you, he doesn't act, feel or look like an 8-year-old guy. Cooper is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is micro chipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in this handsome guy, please fill out an online application and request him in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cooper, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
