My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snowflake is a small (15 lb) cockapoo who was rescued from a hoarder/breeder situation. She spent her entire life in a small, filthy wire cage and never had the chance to play outside or cuddle in her person's lap. In spite of all she has been through, Snowflake is a happy cheerful lady who is learning all about cuddles, treats and being clean and cared for.

Snowflake does have a respiratory issue (she stopped breathing and almost died when she was given anesthesia when she went in to be spayed ). We have had a full veterinary examination and chest x-rays done in an attempt to determine exactly what the issue is. They do show abnormalities in her lungs (though the cause is currently unknown one likely possibility is long-term, un-treated Pneumonia or perhaps just long-term exposure to squalid living conditions. Snowflake does get sufficient oxygen and at this time does not require any special care for her condition but she may not be able to be as active as some dogs her age. The x-rays also showed that Snowflake has evidence of hip dysplasia but again, this is not affecting her at this time and she is not showing any gait abnormalities.

If you have a quieter home and love to give a dog with some health issues then Snowflake may be just the lady for you. She will certainly repay your kindness a million times over.
