Savannah's Story...
Hi, I'm Savannah. I am a sweet, goofy girl who loves to play with people and other dogs. My whole body wags when I greet you. I have excellent house manners. My foster mom says I'm the best behaved foster dog she's ever had! I'm housebroken, crate trained, and I don't bark inside unless someone comes to the door. I only play with approved dog toys and I like car rides. I'm good with cats, but sometimes they steal my bed and make me sleep in their small one. I am a happy girl, but I do get nervous when there is a lot of commotion, so I'd do best in a quieter home with no small children. I'd love to have a home with a male doggy playmate though! For more information, contact aarfva@gmail.com.

update from my foster home: My foster mom and I have been working hard with a trainer and at home to boost my confidence levels. I'm not so nervous as I was before. I have learned some new skills like, "down" and "wait". I am smart and like to play games like tug of war and scavenger hunt. I love squeaky toys too! I like my crate and go to it if you say "crate". I do well with routines and I'd love to have someone who can keep working with me. I promise to be a loving and loyal companion in return.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Savannah, a Richmond Black and Tan Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
