Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1-11-011 Midnight – female, vet checked, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, altered, dewormed, tx flea preventative, heartworm tested (-), ~6yr, ~30lbs, ~17" (at shoulder), Mini Australian Shepherd mix.
At the pounds a dog like Midnight is over looked as she is considered one of the hardest to adopt – a mature, black dog. She was also very nervous and not “showing well” in the shelter environment. This meant that either rescue volunteer to take her in or she be euthanized.
Midnight is a doll, she gets along well with other dogs and people she meets. She was not happy in the shelter and being a mature, black dog no one wanted to consider her. Midnight is social with other dogs, and fine around cats, she is good with respectful children but we prefer a home with no small kids as we have not had her living with children. An adult dog like Midnight is actually a great dog to adopt if you don’t have all the time in the world for all the training of a brand new puppy. She comes with basic manners, she is house trained and crate trained – she could likely be given free roam of her new home once she adjusts. Midnight will curl up in her crate on a bed if the door is left open. She has some basic training and is passed all the naughty puppy stages so no chewing on things she shouldn’t and no worrying what she’s getting in to when the house has been a little too quiet a little too long… This lovely girl is clean and quiet in the home. She needs a good walk each day and some play time in the yard. Midnight would make a great addition to a more mature home looking for a companion that is loyal and still active but not hyper or overly demanding but lovable. Midnight would be happiest in a house with a fenced yard.
What do we want in an adopter for Midnight? A more mature home with no children under 6yrs, preferably a house with a fenced yard.
