My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Callie is an adorable bunny who was brought into Huntsville Animal Services by her former owners because "the kids are tired of her". We can't believe anyone would get tired of this little sweetheart! She is a very social bunny who loves to be with people, and really understands how to work the cuteness angle.

Callie has lovely gray fur with a hint of cremesicle orange in her undercoat. She weighs about four and a half pounds. Callie has good litter box skills and has been spayed. She loves to play with her toss toys, and also likes to be petted and loved on.

Callie does have special needs though - she is arthritic and also has had liver issues in the past, although these seem to have resolved with medication. She will also need her teeth checked periodically, as they have been overgrown in the past. Because of her health issues we are not expecting her to be adopted, and are bonding her with another special needs bunny, Cotton.

Callie would like a forever home where no one will tire of her perky personality and loveable good looks. Wouldn't you like to make her wish come true?!

If you are interested in obtaining a rabbit for a companion, please do lots of research. We recommend the information from The House Rabbit Society (www.rabbit.org) or the "Morfz" site (http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html).

The adoption fee is $50 which includes the spay/neuter fee and a new rabbit kit. All of our rabbits have received full vet check ups. We adopt to indoor homes. We do not adopt rabbits as pets for small children. However, rabbits are wonderful house pets for adults! We consider homes with older children, dogs or ferrets on a case-by-case basis.

If you are over 21 and have the time, energy, love and financial resources to care for a rabbit (not to mention a good sense of humor!) we would be happy to talk to you about adopting one of our fabulous foster bunnies!

If you are interested in adopting a bunny from us please email us at huntsvillebunnies@gmail.com. Please include your phone number so that we may contact you about the adoption.

Please note we are a little picky – we love these bunnies and since they have already been through the shelter once we want to make sure they have a great home the second time around! We do screen applicants carefully, as well as require a home visit.
