My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Petey is a dachshund/pug mix with handsome brindle coloring. He came in with Daisy the Bassett when their owner became too frail to care for them any more.Although he was t first nervous of strangers, Petey has come along very well at NCCR and is happy to meet new people now without problem.Like Daisy, he could do with losing some of that rolypoly middle but he's happy to run and play and he loves to go for walks, so he will soon be in great shape.Petey seems good with children, although we wouldnt recommend a home with smaller children as he could be easily spooked by their erratic behavior and movements. He would probably do best in a quieter home environment where he can enjoy being the center of attention and go out and about on interesting jaunts. He's a great handy "travel size" so would do well for anyone who likes to take to the road. This little dog is well worth meeting.

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application. This avoids the disappointment of someone else has "beating you to it" because they were pre-approved. Processing an application does not take us very long but we do insist that all potential adopters are approved before placing a dog. Applying is very simple. Just log on to our website at Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue and select Adopt a Dog from the menu on the left side of the homepage. Just above the photo gallery you will see Adoption Application giving you a choice of 2 formats. Select one of these and complete the information requested, then save it as a file and e mail it to us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours of sending your application, please call us at 716/326-PAWS. And be sure to check out all the dogs and puppies eagerly awaiting homes.
