Chico's Story...
Chico is a 20+ yr old double yellow headed amazon parrot who is healthy and needs a home. His only mom died 3 years ago and he was left up in a bedroom alone with another parrot who was ill that he "took care" of. Now that his friend got a home, he is much more relaxed and playful. As most people know, amazons are very special parrots in not only do they talk, but they can and do become hormonal and sometimes aggressive. Chico will choose his favorite person and be their buddy for life. For him, this can be up to 50 more years! Please, if you have amazon experience and are willing to be patient with him warming up to you, you will be rewarded with a wonderful, relatively mellow friend!
Go to www.lilysanctuary.org read our entire adoption section, and if you feel you qualify, fill out the adoption application in as much detail as possible and push send. Thank you for adopting!!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chico, a Fountain Valley Amazon was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Amazon for sale in Fountain Valley, or seeking a Amazon from a breeder in Fountain Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fountain Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fountain Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Amazon breeders who help with Amazon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fountain Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
