I am already neutered, purebred, and up to date with shots.
Oscar was rescued from a high kill shelter by a family who intended to keep him forever. But a young exuberant Dane proved to be more than the inexperienced dog owners could handle and he was relenquished by them to our group for placement. We have worked with him and he now no longer tries to tapdance on human heads. He loves to have his tummy rubbed, but still has some self control problems, so we are not recommending Oscar for a home where theyre are children under the age of 10 or 12 simply because he could knock them down in his eagerness. He is social with other dogs, and would be best with a larger female dog as a companion or as an only pet.
If you have the patience and willingness to spend some time forming a nurturing reletionship with Oscar, teaching him what your rules and expectations are, he will reward you with all the love in his Giant-sized heart.
