Scooby--URGENT!'s Story...
Urgent! Scooby is not in the Closer to Home Animal Advocates rescue program. We are trying to help this boy get out of the pound and into a new home before February 1.

Scooby is a 1-year-old neutered male Mountain Cur mix. He is a very sweet dog that needs to be in a home with a fenced yard. This is a working dog and should be with someone that will take him on walks and make sure he gets some exercise. He previously lived with a family with children and we were told he is good with kids and housetrained. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is ready to find a new, loving home!

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please contact us at mindy@cthaa.org and fill out our online application. Vet and personal references will be checked and a home visit is required.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested, on heartworm preventative year-round, and microchipped for identification. A fenced yard is required to adopt any of our dogs and the height must be a minimum of 5 feet. We do not adopt dogs to homes with invisible fences.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooby--URGENT!, a Belleville Mountain Cur dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mountain Cur for sale in Belleville, or seeking a Mountain Cur dog from a breeder in Belleville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Belleville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Belleville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mountain Cur breeders who help with Mountain Cur rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Belleville paves the way for another one to be saved.
