My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tika is a happy 8 year old cream female who is an MSIR Alumni. She was previously rescued from a commerical breeder and then lived with her sister until her adoptive owner became ill and was no longer able to take care of her. She is 20lbs and about 14inches tall at the shoulders. She is looking for a stable and loving forever home.

She does well with other dogs, even our dominate female liked her immediately. She does not bother with the cat we have either. She is very sweet and loves to sit next to you and be petted. She is a quick learner and does best with routine. She shows no signs of dominance or aggression with food, treats, or toys. She is a known escape artist with chain link fences and open doors. She has worn teeth so she needs some softer foods. Tika loves to trot around the back yard, but is not super playful with toys.

Her activity level is very calm and relaxed, so she will be a wonderful companion to a laid back family. She has not been tested with children but she has not shown any aggression when being picked up or when poked or prodded by the other dogs. She is frightened by loud noises or fast movements, so young children may not be best. She is shy around new people, but a little cheese snack will make her your friend! She is reliably house broken, and does not beg for human food. She does well with bathing and nail grinding. She has been crate trained and sleeps in it without you having to close it. Tika is a calm, quiet, well behaved Shiba that needs a loving forever home.

The adoption fee for Tika is $200.
