My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

Brandon is an adorable mix of American eskimo and pomeranian whose elderly owner couldn't care for him. He is 9 months old and full grown at 17 pounds. He has a gorgeous coat which had to be shaved down due to matting but it will regrow. Brandon is the happiest, friendliest puppy we've ever met. He absolutely loves to play with people and especially other dogs as he lived with just one elderly lady who couldn't play with him. Brandon will do best with kids over 5 as he is likely to jump on smaller kids. A home with a fenced yard and another playful dog is essential. Also, Brandon will do very well in obedience classes as he has a strong desire to please his people. Brandon is puppy pad trained and outdoor trained and he really dislikes being kenneled. He needs a home with someone home much of the time to continue his training and socialization. Brandon is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His $325 adoption fee covers his neuter, heartworm preventive, shots, worming, professional grooming and HomeAgain microchip.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
