My story

Beau Chien (French for "Lovely Dog") is still a youngster, probably born early last spring. He came to rescue with the name "Shy Boy" because he is a little shy, but he warms up quickly and enjoys petting. Beau is not a real cuddler, but he is pretty young and energetic so sitting or lying still for long is hard for him. He is a good sized pup, standing about 14 inches at the shoulder. Beau should not get much taller, but is likely to fill out in the coming year. He gets along with other dogs and if they aren't grouchy with him, he likes to play. Beau has a good pattern of keeping his crate clean, and does not have a problem sleeping quietly in the crate. He uses a dog door or will go to the door if it is opened, but will have to be told when to go out until he learns to signal when he wants out. Beau doesn't mind cats and should make a good playmate for active children.
