BANDYT's Story...
Bandyt is an 8 year old neutered male Border Collie with a very sweet "doganality". He likes to go for walks, is very people oriented, likes to play tug-of-war and absolutely loves to be with his human all the time. He will "talk" to you and nudge you with his nose when he wants attention. He is fantastic in the house and knows how to use a doggie door. He gets along with other dogs but prefers to be with his human. He will bond with you very quickly and never leave your side. He seems to be used to going places with his human as he likes to go for rides. He rides well in a truck or a car. He would do better in a home with older children and has not been tested on cats. He does have some herd drive as I have had him down by my horses and he wants to herd them but he calls off nicely. He appears to have been well taken care of and well trained by someone who once loved him very much. He is somewhat overweight but has been tested for hypothyroidism and came up negative. He just needs to be kept on his diet and exercise program. He is good on a leash and would do well with someone who likes to run, jog or just walk every day. He would also love someone to throw him tennis balls so he can play fetch!

Bandyt is being fostered in San Diego County. If you would like to meet Bandyt please send us an email for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BANDYT, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
