My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bodie came to the shelter as a stray, and his owner never came forward, so he is now ready to be YOUR new best friend! Bodie is a gorgeous mix of chow and, we're guessing, some sort of shepherd, with who knows what else in there (many of us think he might have some collie)- he is just beautiful! He weighs about 65 pounds, and we think he is around 3 years old. He is just a big ol' love bug! Seems to like other dogs just fine; when we tested him with the shelter cats, he barked and wagged his tail - looked like he wanted to play with them, but he's a big boy so caution is advised when introducing to small furries. He is pretty good on leash, seems to be housetrained, and has a big heart full of love! We think he, Teague and Blake may have come from the same place - lost? abandoned on the highway? Sure wish they could talk.

Bodie's only "bad" habit seems to be his desire to jump up on people for hugs (a habit that he shares with Blake) - he is very gentle when doing so, and should be pretty easy to train to either not jump up at all, or to only jump up for a hug when invited. He hasn't knocked over any of the volunteers, even on the ice! That is a GRACEFUL jumper, ha!

Bodie loves all the attention at the shelter, and really enjoys being groomed.

Like all our adult pet placements, Bodie comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, worming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $75; more gratefully accepted!) Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
