My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Takota is a sweet and spunky young lady, completely housebroken and ready to find that new home of her own! Her previous owner had to go into a nursing home and sadly, had no family members that could take Takota in. "Takota" is an Sioux Indian name that means "friend to everyone", and that name sure fits!! She is a very happy dog and charms everyone she meets! Takota loves to play with our other dogs, but was an only dog in her previous home, so she'd do just fine with or without a canine companion. She weighs right at 30 lbs. and has the softest coat - very huggable!! We're not sure of her exact breed - corgi, cattle dog, terrier perhaps - she's just a sweet and loving mix! She's quite entertaining with her romps and jumps around the yard. She knows not to jump on people but she bouces around the yard, just joyful to be out of the shelter and to be able to stretch her legs!! Takota was raised as an indoor dog and would be a PERFECT indoor companion. She'd enjoy doing a run in a fenced yard but is a champ on the leash too, so a fenced yard, although preferable, is not mandatory. She gets so excited when she knows it's time for her walk :) and it's just a true joy to take her for one - what a cutie!!
Takota is spayed and up-to-date on all of her shots, is heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, and is on frontline for flea and tick prevention.
