Lily's Story...
Courtesy Post!
Lily, 30 pounds, beagle/shepherd mix, 1 year old

Lily is a one-year old mixed breed who was surrendered when she gave birth to a litter of puppies (all since placed). Lily has gone into a foster home and is looking forward to her own home -- she is friendly, loyal and attentive. She was also a wonderful mother, which we always like to see in a dog. She is so eager to please it is almost painful, and she learns very quickly. She is a dog who will be eternally grateful for the kindness and affection she is given, and whose only goal will be to provide love and loyalty in return - - in her way, showing that she is worthy of the care she is now being given.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Rockville German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle for sale in Rockville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Beagle dog from a breeder in Rockville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rockville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rockville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Beagle breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rockville paves the way for another one to be saved.
