River's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

River's Story...
With some holistic treatments and several visits to the vet, River's mange disappeared within just a couple of weeks and her hair has grown back to a glorious red color. As of July 2006, she's about 4 months old and is quickly learning her basic obedience. She's almost housetrained and already knows sit. It is a joy to watch her in action, whether it be hopping after a ball or playing with her foster brothers and sisters. River is showing signs of being an alpha dog, so we recommend that she be an only dog. Since she is such a feisty girl on top of still being a puppy, she'll need continued training and correction to ensure that she remains well-adjusted, well-behaved, and well-socialized. She's a cutie but we want to make sure the person that adopts her has the time, energy, and know-how to channel her energies to more appropriate behavior. Adoption Requirements: Application, Interview, Homecheck. Adopton Fee: $150.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

River, a Bakersfield Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Bakersfield, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Bakersfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bakersfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bakersfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bakersfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
