Big Guy's Story...
Big Guy fits his name. He's about 85 pounds of pure sweetness. He is probably a lab mix but has a curly type, wire hair. He LOVES attention and would love to have a yard to run in. He's a pretty mellow guy and should do fine with dogs that are not going to be the dominant one. He would do fine with people of all ages, but because of his size, older kids might be better. Big Guy is approximately 3 years old and is waiting for that special family to give him the home he deserves. He is at the shelter so if you're interested in seeing him, give us a call or stop by during open hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Big Guy, a Columbia Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
