My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Chili and I am a 10 year old Blue and Gold Macaw. My first owner really didn't know how to care for me and kept me in a very small cage and often locked me in a closet for being to loud. A very nice family rescued me from that bad place and really loved me very much. They asked the Florida Parrot Rescue to find me a "forever" home because they could not give me as much time as I need. I'm not mad at them as I know they are helping me to find the right family for me!

I started plucking my feathers years ago and the vet says they will not grow back. My foster mom took me to the vet and I have a bad infection in my skin and have to take some medicine for it. I do enjoy people but do not like to be touched because I am very afraid, but my foster mom is working to teach me to trust people again. I like to play peek a boo, and bounce on my perch. I say words like "hello, bye-bye, hello popeye, and have been known to say a couple bad words. (I can't say them now my foster mom says they are not nice). I also bark and growl like a dog.
