Rito's Story...
Orlando, FL
Rito is a loyal and loving 6 year old dog who is also exceptionally handsome and true to his breed. He loves to run and play with other dogs and is loaded with energy. Rito is a very good jumper; if you put both your arms out, he can jump into them. He is a gentleman, and although he loves to sit at your side while you watch TV, he will usually wait for an invitation. Although Rito is friendly with everyone, a human has to earn his loyalty over time - but once he knows you and loves you, no one can resist his charm! He has a way of making you know that he thinks you’re wonderful! Rito is a great dog and his favorite thing to do is play with his brother Rocco. Rito has grown up in a household of adults. He is friendly and playful with children, but unaccustomed to living with them. Rito is pretty good listener, too. He is housebroken, and an excellent mouser! His best friend is his brother Rocco. You can see more photos herehere.

Note: This is a Guardian Assistance Placement (GAP) Program dog, meaning he/she has been fortunate enough to remain in his/her current home while looking for a new home. Veterinary records have been verified, but we must rely on input from the owner for information on behavior and temperament.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rito, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
