Ozzie's Story...
Ozzie (male)

Hi! I am a Maltese mix (I think). I am small (about 5 lbs.), white and cute as a button. I was found on the front porch of some nice people in Bossier City, near the Boardwalk. They already have three big dogs and two cats, so they need to find me a nice home. I get along with all animals. I love to play and run outside. I walk on a leash well and like going for walks. I like to curl up on the couch next to you and sleep and love to have my belly rubbed. I didn’t have a collar, so I don’t know if I am up-to-date on shots or if I am neutered. I only bark when left alone or at strangers who come on the porch (usually because my new doggy friends are barking and I like to join in). I play well with others and will want to sleep in your bed at night. I am partially housetrained if let out on a regular basis. I only have accidents in the house at night, if I can’t get outside. If you are looking for a sweetheart that will love you back unconditionally, I am your little man. If you are interested in becoming my forever parent(s), please email Jennifer at jennifer@lunnirion.com, or call 318-840-4045. There is a screening process to adopt me and my adoption fee is a suggested donation to Pet Savers of $75 for their help in rehoming me and to help assure I go to a good home. Once you adopt me, PLEASE get me spayed/neutered to help control the HUGE overpopulation and euthanasia rate in this area. Robinson’s Rescue low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (Shreveport) offers special low-cost pricing for spaying and neutering. Call 318-861-0101 for your spay/neuter appointment ONLY, not about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ozzie, a Haughton Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
