Shrek's Story...
Shrek and Fiona were turned in at the shelter when their elderly owner was not able to keep them any longer. Shrek is very outgoing and will even "talk" to you when you talk to him. He's happy and active and he loves attention. Shrek weighs 9.5 pounds and his fur is shiny and tangle free. He was a great boy during grooming too! He really loves Fiona...we feel that she may be his "mom" as she is quite a bit older than he is. Shrek has had a dental and been neutered and he's ready for his new home. We are hoping we will be able to place them together since they seem to be very attached to one another. We will discount their adoption fee if we can find them a forever home together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shrek, a Windham Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Windham, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Windham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Windham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Windham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Windham paves the way for another one to be saved.
