With a look this cute, you’d never guess that this little guy and his brother were abandoned, but that’s just what happened only a few days ago. When workers at Carroll County Dog Pound arrived for work, they found that the pair had been dumped in the outdoor kennel in the middle of the night. Most likely they were the result of yet another unwanted litter that the family just didn’t want to be bothered with.

But they were obviously played with and handled because these boys love people. Even with barking dogs all around them at the pound, they bounded up to the front of the kennel to greet us and lick our fingers. When it came time to take them out to the car for the ride to safety, they were happy as could be in their crate in the back seat. Not a peep out of them the whole way back.

Dash is certainly the more outgoing one, leaping into every new situation as if it’s a personal challenge. He was a lot more interested in exploring the table, everything around him and most importantly the treats during his photos session than actually taking the photos, but luckily he’s a very photogenic pup, so his pictures came out great. Be sure to check out his video.

Dash is believed to be a German Shepherd/Lab. We’re expecting him to reach about 50 – 55 pounds as an adult.

The boys are currently in foster care where they have a big adult dog to play with and three kids who are overjoyed to have puppies in the house. They also got to meet cats at the shelter and were incredible fascinated. In foster care, they are starting potty training and crate training, so they will be used to the concept before going home with you, but additional training will be needed before they’re really good at it.

The boys are not yet neutered, but this will happen BEFORE you take them home. If you would like to meet one or both, please call 330–397–8270 to schedule an appointment for their foster mom to bring them to the shelter. After you meet, you can fill out an adoption application. If approved, you must leave a 50% deposit ($100) to reserve your puppy. We can usually get the neuter scheduled within a few days. They can then go home with your family the day after surgery.
