Kiki's Story...
Well, Kiki is now 27 years old – she thinks bald is beautiful and continues to pluck. She has a great appetite and will eat just about anything you give her. We’ve found out that she’s had a broken wing in the past and will never be able to fly. That doesn’t stop her from walking around – she loves to be outside with you and will sit on the back of a chair or follow you around the yard. Kiki also loves to make sure the dogs get their daily dose of bird food – she’ll fling her pellets out of the dish just to see the dogs scramble for them. “Hello” in its many variations continues to be her favorite word although sometimes she’ll say a couple of other words. Kiki is very social but not clingy – she likes to be part of the team but is also fine by herself. She has laid several eggs in the past year so her foster mom covers her cage at night and makes sure that she gets almost equal amounts of light and dark. This has helped to stop the egg laying. Kiki is a great bird – not a screamer and steps up very easily. She doesn’t really interact with the other birds and would probably be fine with another bird, but she is definitely the boss!

About Our Rescue Group...
Florida Parrot Rescue is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of companion parrots. We strive to educate parrot owners on proper handling and care of parrots. Should someone be unable to keep their bird(s) for ANY reason, we want them to know there is a place to turn, and that they are not alone. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for birds that cannot stay with their owners or birds in need, and then to find those birds permanent forever homes with loving and responsible families.
