Meet Clancy, a 6 year old Cockatoo that is pretty quiet as far as Cockatoos go! He (and because of “his” light colored brown eyes, I think “he” is a “she”) is beautiful although he had started plucking some of his chest and back feathers. In providing more pellets in his food and interacting with him a bit more, I am hoping that this hasn’t yet become a habit and those feathers will grow right back in. He doesn’t say much and will raise his wings when he wants you to pet underneath them…. but remember, you should never pet his back. Although I am trying to teach him to “step up” to a stick/perch, Clancy prefers to come out of his cage on his own, then step up to your hand. He loves shredding wood so he gets plenty of wooden toys to do so. So, if you are looking for a beautiful bird, who will love you for many years to come (they can live up to 70 years in captivity), fill out an application and adopt Clancy. Your family will truly cherish this amazing parrot!
