Herbie's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Herbie's Story...
Herbie will make a terrific family addition for an active family who is familiar with strong breeds and is able to give him the consistent love and attention he deserves.

Even though he is full of energy, Herbie has an excellent start on his basic obedience skills. He has a perfect 'sit' on command, knows 'come', and understands the concept of "off", but is sometimes just overcome with playful joy to remember he is not supposed to jump up.

This boy is friendly to strangers and just wants to play and have fun. Herbie should be good with grade school kids - but remember he is strong, along with friendly and playful, so small children would be at risk of being knocked down as Herbie runs by.

His new family should continue with the basic obedience training - especially leash work. If he has had some active play time, his leash skills improve, but they still need work.

Come to the County shelter, fill out an adoption application form, and ask a K-9 PALS volunteer to take you to Herbie. He's the very handsome, very friendly youngster waiting to be part of your life. He's Herbie. He's ready. Come and get him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Herbie, a Santa Barbara Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
