My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Alfey is a Rescue In Need.
Alfey is a 9 month old female merle Great Dane / Irish Wolfhound mix. She is a bit on the small side for both breeds, weighing in at only 70 pounds. She came to the rescue from a local shelter where her owner turned her in for bad behavior. Her foster parents have actually found that she is quite well behaved. She is house trained, doesn't counter surf, hasn't chewed on anything but her toys, and does well in her crate. We understood that her previous owner didn't crate train, which may have been the problem they experienced with her. She is a very sweet, lovable puppy that loves everyone and every creature that she meets. Alfey shows her love for everyone with kisses and "helicopter tail" (her tail actually wags in circles). She loves to play with her foster brother (Great Dane), tolerates her not-so-nice foster sister (Chihuahua) and has a kind interest in her 3 feline foster sisters. We discovered just how well natured she is after finding out that she has a serious CCL injury that will require surgery. Alfey showed no signs of being in pain and remained in good spirits despite the doctors observations that she was clearly in pain. Her back leg with the CCL injury is highly underdeveloped since she favors her other three legs to get around. Alfey will be scheduled for surgery in the next couple of weeks and will be on her way towards recovery.
