Meet Rosie! This sweet girl somehow ended up at the shelter. She looks as though she was used for breeding. She is absolutely darling, short and stocky, and low to medium energy. Her coat is beautiful and shiny--she's a lady who loves her bath and tolerates the blow dryer. She loves to give kisses and have her belly rubbed. As her photos show, Rosie is not malnourished, but is not food aggressive. She takes treats nicely, but could shed a few pounds to improve her "polished" look.
Update: Rosie has been with her foster family for several weeks, and they've learned much about her. Rosie doesn't appear to have been socialized much. She is learning to walk on a leash, romps in the yard but doesn't play fetch, and LOVES her stuffed animals. She gets along well with our family lab, but needs proper intros to other dogs when on leash. She corrects easily. She is tenative on her feet on slippery surfaces, but does fine with rugs and other non-slip surfaces. She is a "mouthy" lab, but does not bite down as she tries to get your attention. She is on pain medication for issues with her back end. She prefers short walks and has difficulty getting in and out of an SUV. She is totally housebroken and prefers to be crated when left alone. A quiet home with no small children would be an ideal FOREVER HOME for Rosie. She just wants to be with people and give and receive affection.
