Sam's Story...
There could not be a more perfect lab! Sam is abt 2 yrs old, 100% housetrained and a complete sweetheart! At 74 lbs, he is a gentle giant who loves other dogs & completely ignores the kitties in the house. Sam enjoys playing in the yard especially with his canine foster brothers but is perfecty happy to flop on the floor while in the house. Sam does not like to be crated but is fine when left alone in the house and doesn't even jump on the furniture! He rides well in the car, walks well on a leash, and is very affectionate. Sam bonds quickly with people (great with older kids) and likes to be where the humans are. He would make a wonderful addition to any family! He is a GREAT dog who is looking for a permanent, responsible home that will give him the attention and love he needs.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations.please contact Patti at 913.766.5010 or pthun@kc.rr.com to find out when and where you can meet SAM!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Overland Park Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
