From Maverick's foster mom: This handsome boy is Maverick. He is four years old and came to us from Rapid City, South Dakota. One of our affiliate rescue groups was kind enough to fly Maverick to us, so he is used to the finer things in life!
Look at that tail! It is of course not docked, and it will be high maintenance unless it is trimmed. However, it has such a royal flourish to it that I am going to continue to brush it out every night to keep it looking regal.
Maverick is neutered and up to date on his shots. This is a healthy and robust boy. He currently weighs forty-four and a half pounds, but his ideal weight would be forty pounds. He has no medical problems, and I will go further to say that he has no problems of any kind.
This boy has a gentle temperament. He knows Sit, Stay, and No, and he doesn't get up on the furniture. He gets along great with the other dogs. This is partly because he is a little submissive and is a "get along" kind of guy. He hasn't counter surfed so far, although the longer he is here the more possible it is that he may learn bad habits from the other naughty Springers in our pack!
Maverick shows little interest in toys, but he does love to be outside. He is curious outdoors but responds immediately to calls to come back. He loves people the most, and he will be a constant companion. When we leave the house, he has the run of the house. There has been no destruction, no mess, and no accidents. Maverick is completely toilet trained, and he circles at the door when he needs to go out. In the car he lies down as soon as the car starts up and doesn't move until it stops.
This is a great, well-mannered Springer who is a lover of humans and other dogs. He will make a wonderful family pet and a loyal companion.
