Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NON SMOKING HOUSE REQUIRED!
Ruben was found as a stray. No one claimed him. Ruben energetic and a social butterfly. He likes a busy household. He would do best with a canine companion and a family that is very active with their dogs. Ruben loves to go for walks and gets antsy if he does not go for regular walks. He will paw at you when it's time to go for a walk. Ruben is a lover, and likes attention. Ruben enjoys car rides and is well behaved in the car. Ruben is excellent at the vet’s office too. He is good with children and other dogs. He does prefer females to males.
Ruben has Eosinophilic Bronchopneumopathy which is a respiratory problem. It can not be cured but it can be controlled. Seasonal allergens worsen his symptoms so he needs frequent vet care. Ruben needs to use an inhaler and oral medications to control his condition. They need to be given 3 times a day. Some medications can make him anxious which leads him to chew house hold items, mostly paper products but he has also chews wood furniture. The medications also cause frequent urination. He can not go more than 6 hours without urinating. Ruben has a sensitive stomach when it comes to pain medications. Some pain medications or a combination of certain medications cause severe stomach upset. Ruben needs to be fed a food free from corn, wheat and soy. Ruben medications cost about $95 a month. Due to Ruben's respiratory issue he will need a non smoking home.
