My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 3/20/11: Introducing Dawson!

Dawson is such an adorable pup! He and his sister Danika were rescued together. Danika is also posted on our site, looking for a 'forever home'. Dawson is 16 weeks old and around 15 lbs right now. He looks like a Flat Coat Retriever-mix.

Dawson has a playful, happy-go-lucky personality. He was just rescued and is staying with one of our volunteers in a foster home until he finds someone to adopt him. Dawson loves to romp around and play with his sister Danika. He likes playing with the other dogs in the household too. Dawson would benefit from some basic obedience lessons, as any pup would. He seems intelligent and we know he'd do great! As we learn more about Dawson, we will update this posting.

Interested in meeting and possibly adopting this dog? Fill-out an online adoption application via www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.

While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
