Maggie Mae's Story...
shoe and dog

(ID #14) Hi, my name is Maggie Mae.

I was found as a stray wandering the streets, worrying how to care for myself. At least here at the shelter I have my basic needs met, like food and water plus a roof over my head. However, I am longing to find my forever home and a family to love me. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me??

I am a young lady, somewhere around two years old and I weigh around 30 pounds. I have already been spayed, given my basic shots, and microchipped. When I was found I tested positive for heartworms. The wonderful folks took care of me and killed all those nasty worms. I am now heartworm negative.

I am being sponsored by Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue. That means they are providing you with a getting started Goodie Bag when you adopt me. The bag contains a collar, leash, ID tag, training DVD, CD with helpful articles, booklet with training information, toy, and treats. They are also providing a certificate for a free training course held at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie Mae, a Cincinnati Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
