Hans's Story...
Hans is a gorgious, smooth-coated, black and tan, standard-size Dachshund. He was rescued from a puppy mill in East Texas. Other than being noticeably underweight, Hans came to us in, otherwise, great health. We put him on a very high-quality diet, with nutritional supplements and Hans filled out nicely. This is one friendly, playful Weenie Dog, who loves people and loves other dogs. Hans loves to go for walks and enjoys playing in his foster mom's back yard. He is kennel-trained and we are working with Hans on his housetraining. We are so happy to be able to give Hans a 2nd chance at a bright future, instead of the gloomy life he faced in the puppy mill. He is a handsome dog and a real love-bug. Our $175 adoption fee helps cover the medical care Hans has received: neuter, shots, worming, heartworm test (which was negative) and medical exam. Hans is also on monthly heartworm prevention. This happy, healthy boy is full of life and has lots of love to give someone. After the sad place Hans came from, we want to make sure he has a secure, loving, permanent home to live the rest of his life. An adopter who has experience with Dachshunds would be extra-nice. **Applicants for Hans must have a verifiable history with a vet.** If you're interested in giving this sweet boy a permanent home, please complete our online application today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hans, a Carrollton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
