Note: Kimber is not in the Closer to Home Animal Advocates rescue program. We are listing him as a courtesy to his owner.
Kimber is a 1-year-old neutered male Siberian Husky, black and white, with blue eyes. He is up to date on all vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm prevention. His owner told us that he was a stray and they have had him about 5 months, however, Kimber has too much energy for their older dog. The owners also do not have a fenced yard and, like all huskies, Kimber will run away when not leashed or contained, which is why a fenced yard will be required to adopt him.
Kimber lives with teenaged kids and he loves the attention but we don't know how he would behave with small children so we prefer a home with only older kids. Kimber has too much energy for the little ones. He seems to get along well with other dogs but we don't think cats would be safe around him. Basically, this boy needs a home with another younger dog as a playmate and/or active owners who will make sure he gets enough exercise.
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out and submit our
online application. Kimber's adoption fee is $200. Vet and personal references will be checked and a home visit is required.
A fenced yard is required to adopt any of our dogs and the fence must be a minimum of 5' high. We do not adopt dogs to homes with invisible fences.
