Carmen's Story...
Meet Carmen. She's a unique-looking dog with such a pretty copper colored, very short coat, about 4 years old. She's a big girl, but has short legs, low to the ground. She is the right dog for just the right kind of home: no young kids and no other dogs, but cats are just fine. She would do well in a quieter type of home. She is accustomed to a fenced yard, but could do well if leash walked instead. She is affectionate, loves her treats (a bit too much, though) and her chewies. She does well in her crate for limited periods of time. If you can provide Carmen with a loving home, please fill out our application at www.peisandstrays.com. I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, and housetrained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Newport Hound (Unknown Type)/Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shar Pei for sale in Newport, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Shar Pei breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
