My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barron is a darling black and tan dapple longhaired, waif of a dachshund weighing 8.5 pounds. Barron is a puppy mill survivor who has come leaps and bounds in becoming a real dog and a dachshund. This little guy has learned so much from his foster dachshund siblings. He now plays with a ball, has been observed playing tug-of-war with another dachsie and races around the yard like a pro. The coolest thing about Barron is his house training. Barron is 95% house trained and it was all done by his watching and following the routine of the resident dachshunds in his foster home. Barron has also mastered the ramp going up to the big bed. All of these accomplishments may not be that impressive to the average person, but, if you can imagine living in a small wire cage since being a puppy and never knowing a loving touch or kind word, never seeing a toy, a warm blanket or grass and never knowing, even remotely, what normal dog behavior was, then you would be very impressed with little Barron’s milestones. To have the capacity to give a human another chance shows amazing trust. Barron wants to be held, he wants to sit next to his foster Mom and cuddle under the covers where he feels safe and loved. If you have what it takes to help Barron continue his journey toward normal and can show him the unconditional love he deserves then please fill out an adoption application at www.c2cdr.org for an opportunity to meet this little survivor. Barron will not be adopted outside of Colorado or to a home without another small dog. The adoption fee for Barron is $250.00, he is fully vetted including microchip.
