Chevy's Story...
Chevy is a very handsome, sweet and friendly, two-year-old, 45-pound, male, chocolate and vanilla speckled Lab/Pointer/Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Chevy gets along with other dogs, knows the command sit and down, and takes treats gently from your fingers. Chevy was rescued from being euthanized at a high kill shelter after he was found as a stray. He was found to have heartworm. He has gone through treatment and is now very healthy and waiting for a foster home, forever home or a rescue group to take him in.

Chevy is healthy, neutered, heartworm-treated, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines. To meet and possibly adopt, foster, or rescue him, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or 708-224-1900. His adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued pets. He is currently being kenneled in Steger, Illinois, and would love to get out of a kennel and into a home setting.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chevy, a Chicago Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pointer for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pointer dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pointer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
