My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted April 23, 2011........Meet Madelin, Maddie for short. Maddy is about 23 pound, and 6 month. She is a sweetheart. We are fairly certain based on her current size and age that she will probably be a small/medium size dog. Maddie has long legs and slender body like a whippet, and she is very agile like a whippet possible some kind of terrier, but then again breed is just a guess as well. Either way, she is a very, very cute little girl and will make a wonderful family pet.

Maddie is a sweet, loving, affectionate laid back bundle of joy. She has a lot of personality and really enjoys cuddling. She is currently being fostered in a Downers Grove home with other dogs, cats and young children and is great with them all. She shows no signs of food or toy aggression, has a wonderful dispostion and temperment.

This is what the previous foster mom says about Maddie..."Maddie is an active girl, she loves to play outside and go for walks. She likes to go out in the yard to chew her bones, and when she is ready to come in she taps on the door. She behaves very nicely in the house. Madeline is housebroken and crate trained, but she prefers to sleep with people. Maddie likes to be hidden when she is sleeping, she burrows under the covers next to a person or in a blanket on the couch, or in the back of her crate.

We were working on a few behaviors, such us jumping up when someone reaches to pet her, and jumping on her back legs while on the leash rather than walking. She knows ‘sit’, sort of knows ‘paw’, and we were teaching her to sit and stay in a certain spot when the doorbell rings and someone is coming in. She is not a constant barker or a biter; but she will bark at other dogs, especially when she is on the leash. She likes obstacle/agility courses, which we were doing in the backyard using regular items like chairs and the playset. Madeline learned to follow the course in a short time, less than an hour, so she is smart and willing to learn."

Maddie's adoption fee of $250.00, which includes her spaying (already done), microchip, 1st, 2nd and 3rd puppy vaccination, rabies vaccinated, dewormed with Panacur, treated with revolution for the prevention of fleas, mites and heartworm, along with a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital or Wheaton Animal Hospital.

The adoption also comes with a free puppy class through Flydogs located at Central Bark Doggie Daycare in Oswego, which introduces you to housebreaking, name recogition, crate training, sit/stay and leash walking.

If you would like to meet this very adorable puppy, please go to the angelsonwheelsanimalrescue.com website to download an adoption application.

Please note that we are a foster based rescue and do not have a facility, which means all of our animals are cared for in homes of wonderful people who have volunteered their time to help save these animals and provide a home environment while they are waiting for their forever home.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals and wanting to give them a wonderful home.
