Smidgen's Story...
My name is Smidgen and I am a very special little 4 pound Chihuahua. I was a puppy mill dog and then I was sold to a pet store. Some people bought me and then my back was broken. They had it repaired but then when they realized that I would never walk as perfectly as another dog they gave me away. I went from PA to NJ and then from NJ to West Virginia and now I am back in PA and this rescue tells me that they are not letting me go until they find a PERFECT family for me. I love to be held and when you take me out to potty I go very quickly so I can rush back to your arms. Please find it in your heart to love me and adopt me. Go to: and fill out my adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smidgen, a Mt Gretna Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mt Gretna, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mt Gretna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt Gretna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt Gretna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt Gretna paves the way for another one to be saved.
