Charlee's Story...
HI! My name is Charlee and I am a 1.5 year (EST DOB: July, 2010) old bundle of sweetness, puppyness (still!) and energy!! I weigh about 40 pounds and have been consistently at that weight while developing some great lean muscle for my hikes, runs, and playing fetch! But I am never allowed “off leash” at dog parks.

I have been with my foster Mom since March, and am still looking for my forever home. I’m in really good shape and love to be active! I need a forever home that will give me the attention and exercise I require for my energy level. I am a pit bull mix, and really don’t know what the mix is. People I’ve met tell me I look a little houndy. I think they’re right! I have really soft eyes and am white and brown with the most charming pink nose and lips. I absolutely love my toys…there is usually a basketful strewn around the house. But I am just so excited about life!

I was found as a stray in Western Massachusetts and found my way to an animal control/shelter in January. Like most shelters, they were really full and Underdog ResQ was called in and highly evaluated me. I currently live with a cat, who I really like and want to play with. But I chase her, sort of like I do with squirrels and birds and my foster mom separates us most of the time unless supervised. I am house trained, crate trained, ride well in the car, have no guarding behavior (I love to share my food)….I love all people and all dogs, no matter size, gender or age!

I am being fostered by a mom who works, and that’s been okay with me. But I have a dog walker in the afternoon. I love children but should not go to a home with young children due to my propensity to jump. I need exercise, a lot of it, and my training needs to be on going, like with all dogs my age. But I am very sweet and love to cuddle and have my belly rubbed. An ideal home for me would have another dog, maybe a bully breed, who could match my energy level. Or maybe just a Mom or Dad who like to run and take long walks and continue to show me off as a wonderful ambassador of my breed!

Do you think I would be a perfect addition to your home? Please fill out an application after reading about Underdog ResQ’s adoption process - http://www.underdogresq.org/AdoptionCenter/AdoptionProcess.asp. While you are there please check out the website for tons of info on living with a pit bull and how to be a responsible pittie owner - http://www.underdogresq.org/Resources/PitBulls.asp.

Due to Breed Specific Legislation I really would prefer to avoid living in places like Boston, Winthrop, Lynn and Worcester, MA. I look forward to hearing from you!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlee, a Framingham American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Framingham, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Framingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Framingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Framingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Framingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
