Cosmo In TX's Story...
Cosmo has a very gentle nature but tends to be shy until he is familiar with a situation. He would be suitable for a home with other dogs but can play rough or by himself but not cats. Cosmo likes to swim and hike but his favorite activities are catching tennis balls and going out for a bike/run. Cosmo receives many compliments as he has a lovely trot and can run for several miles non-stop. He is gentle when being walked on the leash but prefers to go at a fast walking pace. Cosmo has excellent indoor manners, his nose is on level with the kitchen counters but he never helps himself to what is on them. He will chew and play only with items given to him and leaves all other articles alone. Cosmo has taken beginner dog training and knows sit, stay, come and down and is crate trained. He needs additional training in the yard and supervision to discourage running the fence as he gets very excited when traffic goes by. Cosmo would make an excellent candidate for agility training as he leaps gracefully to catch balls and is surefooted while rock climbing.

Neutered male, 2 year old, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and free of intestinal parasites. He is located in Central Texas but we do adopt out nationally.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cosmo In TX, a Jamestown Dutch Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dutch Shepherd for sale in Jamestown, or seeking a Dutch Shepherd dog from a breeder in Jamestown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jamestown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jamestown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dutch Shepherd breeders who help with Dutch Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jamestown paves the way for another one to be saved.
