Holly's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.

Holly's Story...
Holly is a beautiful 48 pound, spayed female collie/retriever. She is approximately 7 years old with lots of energy and love to give in a forever home. She is bright and quickly learns what is expected. She will follow you everywhere and lie calmly at your feet as you work. She is perfectly housebroken. She would enjoy a fenced yard with other non aggressive dogs or horses, but no cats. She would be ideal one-on-one or with a family with older children. She does not bark unless confronted with something she finds alarming. Holly needs 2 insulin shots daily to control her diabetes. She will not be at the Saturday adoption sites. For more information about Holly, you can contact her foster mother Connie at 760-788-8026 or email her at tcwelke@cox.net. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Spring Valley Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
