My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby Anne is a very sweet 2 - 3 year old dachshund. She is what is called a smooth clear red. She is spayed, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations.

We do not know how she ended up in the shelter in Fresno but she had to stay there for 4 1/2 weeks before she was released to Dachshund Rescue. Ruby Anne was very scared and lonely and lost weight while she was there. She has been in a loving foster home for several weeks now and is happy and healthy.

Ruby Anne is fine with school age kids and she is house trained. She loves to play fetch and walks well on a leash. Ruby Anne gets along well with the other dachshunds in the home. She loves to be close to her people. She is eating well and has gained so weight and now weighs 10.5 pounds. She can still gain a pound or two to be a perfect weight.

When she arrived she had very flaky skin but that has cleared up with good food and a warm crate to sleep in at night. Ruby Anne is quiet in the crate all night but she would much rather sleep in bed with her people. Online application at www.scdr.org, home visit required, adoption fee $300.
