Dakota's Story...
Dakota is a real sweet heart that is good with the other shelter dogs. He is probably around 2-3 years old and is just as lovable and calm as they come. He is neutered and will be up to date on shots upon completion of adoption. He would be content to just lay at your feet while you read your paper or he also likes to play. So, whatever you want from Dakota, he aims to please. If you have room in your heart and family for Dakota, please hurry and contact one of the shelter volunteers and they will be happy to let you meet him. He truly is an awesome dog. If you would like to contact one of the volunteers, you can reach Melodie at 217-466-3980 or Linda at 217-466-1062 or Rachael at 217-712-0804 and we can make arrangements for you and Dakota to meet. If you don't get an answer right away, please leave a message with your name and phone number and we will get right back with you as soon as we get the message.

Act quickly to adopt Dakota. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Paris Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound for sale in Paris, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Paris.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Paris already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Paris breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Paris paves the way for another one to be saved.
