Bo is 8 pounds of pure, unadulterated love. He is one of the happiest spirits on the planet – nothing bothers him, nothing fazes him, he spreads charm and cheer wherever he goes. With Bo, everything is cause for celebration – Oh joy! You’re rubbing my back! Oh joy! You’re scratching my chin! Oh joy! You’re petting me! As the saying goes, his joy knows no bounds… which is all the more astounding when you hear his story.
Bo was found by a wonderful couple who noticed him hanging around the field behind their house (they are both highly allergic to cats, so could not adopt him themselves). He had a “funny” walk and didn’t seem to run very well. They took him to a vet, who x-rayed his back legs, and sure enough – one of his hips looked as if it had been broken (he may have been hit by a car, although it could also have been congenital). The vet said he was probably in quite a bit of pain, but that could be fixed with surgery. He had the surgery, and although he will always walk with a limp, and will never be able to run fast or jump higher than a couch, he is no longer in pain. Through all of this, he has given the humans around him nothing but purrs, smiles, and love! We can learn a lesson from this brave, sweet-hearted soul.
Bo needs a cat buddy in his new home, and would prefer to be in a household where everyone is steady on their feet (no toddlers, please).
