Dewey's Story...
Dewey was one of 26 dogs who were living in horrid conditions, all stuck inside a small house 24/7. She, and the others were removed by authorities awaiting criminal charges. 3 came to us for rehabilitation and recovery. They were all bald, emaciated and sickly. Now, they are healthy, happy and loving every minute of attention they get! They are ready for adoption. Dewey has a beautiful coat and she’s finally just about perfect. With a home environment, we suspect she will become a couch potatoe (in between rollerblading and running) and put on her last few pounds necessary to make her PERFECT!. She is housetrained, and non destructive, and content just hanging around, relaxing and being loved. This poor girl sure deserves a real family of her own for the first time in her life!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey, a Boca Raton Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Boca Raton, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Boca Raton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boca Raton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boca Raton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boca Raton paves the way for another one to be saved.
