My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What better way to describe Nadia then to have her loving foster parent to tell you all about her...

"Nadia is a very curious girl. She enjoys following you around and politely investigating whatever you're doing. She loves to play fetch and does the cutest jump/pounce on the ball or squeaky toy as she nears it. She loves squeaking the toy and showing off what a good job she has done. Nadia also has this funny habit of crawling under the bed or table that has just developed over the last month. She's so quiet about it that you don't notice she's done it, but only see an inch of a paw or the tip of her nose protruding from under the bed. Then if you leave the room, she'll of course be right at your heels. Nadia is just such a love bug - always showering friends with kisses and wanting to be as close as possible.

She has spurts of energy where she runs around, chasing her toys and sprinting around the house. At these times, she loves to roll around on her back - sometimes with her face ending up under her dog bed - and rolling around energetically with her paws in the air! It's quite a sight. She'll sometimes pause upside down as if expecting you to rub her belly. Once her spurts are over, though, she enjoys lounging on the couch or laying by your feet. In fact, one day she was so comfortable laying on the couch that her rear end was no longer fully supported by the couch and her back end slowly fell off. She didn't really try to stop that from happening, but instead looked a bit disgruntled that something interrupted her nap time.

Given how much she loves food, she's shocking respectful about not snatching it off of a coffee table or begging. She seems to understand the food is not for her and will curl up on her couch until we're finished eating. She just really loves people and is very eager to please.

I've noticed that Nadia doesn't really enjoy running for lengthy periods all the time. It seems like it has to be her idea to run (while we're on walks), otherwise she prefers a moderately paced walk. For that reason, I've taken her more on hikes than runs to give her a workout that she will enjoy.

Nadia is just such a sweetheart. Any family will be lucky to have her in their lives."

Nadia is a very loving, sweet gal. She is looking for a home that is eager to enjoy her goofy, playful and affectionate personality. If you're looking for an amazing canine companion, look no further - Nadia is the one! To learn more - www.azrescue.org.

Nadia weighed 42 pounds when we saved her from the kill list.
